Autumn Equinox September 22, 2020 - Equal Light and Dark
By Paula Williams-Iverson
What does the change of season bring? For some it’s anticipation of cozy sweaters and fuzzy blankets, sipping warms drinks all cuddled up with a good book. For others it brings feelings of worry as there is less day light and colder weather on its way. Maybe a change in mood comes along for the ride as we move towards winter. For some there may be a touch of sadness, nostalgia, or reflective thoughts as busy autumn routines are under way and the lazy warm summer days come to a close. It may be a reminder of the fragility of time and, in essence, life. Sounds too philosophical? For some, that is exactly what comes up. But, if you look at it from the perspective of a growth mindset, it doesn’t have to be more than what it is... a change, a transition. It can be embraced, if we allow ourselves to stay in the present moment and be mindful of all that is happening right now. Enjoy what is right in front of you. Maybe its changing colours, kids going back to school with excitement, a cup of hot tea in a spicy flavour or a kitty cuddled up in a blanket on a chilly morning. Some have feelings of wanting to use the change in seasons as a catalyst to inspire change in their lives but don’t know how to start, let us be part of your journey and we can support you to plan your next steps towards positive change as part of our life coaching packages.
